Bio
I am Italian, but I use English a lot for work - I'm a free-lance interpreter and translator mainly working in market research. I like my work, it's fun (well, as fun as a job can be :P). But my dream is to write for a living. Yes, I love writing.
I'm married and have two kids, a girl and a boy. They're small and take a lot of my time, and they are a continuous source of stress... and delight! Luckily, I have a very supportive husband at my side :)
I love the net, as it allows you to meet people who are so like you that you can't believe they grew up and live so far away! I've made some great friends through the net, and can't imagine my life without them now. But I'm not a techie (at all!, as in "need-help-whenever-I-jump-on-some-new-web-adventure", even as simple as LJ... LOL) so that can get frustrating. I'm an active member of a few boards, chat a lot, and post some of my fics on the net. Yes, I would definitely describe myself as net-dependent!
Apart from this "virtual life", I love being with friends, going to the cinema, watching movies, dining out, travelling - although right now we're more in the "remembering the journeys we made before we had kids" stage! -... the usual things. I love good music but totally rely on the help of more knowledgeable friends to find it. I love history but find politics and most talk shows boring. I love Shakespeare (wrote my university thesis on Shakespeare and cinema), and I love to think that, though a genius, in his time, his plays were really "written" "for everybody". Not surprisingly, my fav contemporary authors are Ken Follett and Wilbur Smith. I'm very partial to English and American literature, probably because I love the English language so much. I love story-telling, good stories and good characters, whether I find them in books, movies or TV shows. And speaking of TV shows, I've had three loves over the years: Star Trek (the original Cpt. Kirk/Mr Spok series), Buffy/Angel and, my most recent love, Alias.
